Dr. Woods-Jaeger’s research on key factors and innovative approaches to provide high-quality, culturally responsive mental health services and supports has been published in numerous peer-reviewed journals including the American Psychologist, Psychological Trauma: Theory, Research, Practice, and Policy, Health Education & Behavior, Health Affairs, and Prevention Science. Dr. Woods-Jaeger is a renowned speaker and consultant and maintains leadership positions in professional organizations like International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. Training
Dr. Woods-Jaeger received her doctorate in child clinical psychology from the University of Washington and completed her pre-doctoral clinical internship at the University of Illinois at Chicago. She then went on to further specialize in preventing and treating child and adolescent traumatic stress through her post-doctoral clinical training at the Center for Child & Family Health and National Child Traumatic Stress Network. Dr. Woods-Jaeger has trained with developers of leading evidence-based treatments including Dialectical Behavior Therapy and is passionate about delivering these treatments in a culturally-responsive manner and increasing access to mental health support for diverse populations. She is also committed to staying up-to-date with the cutting-edge advancements within the field and, in addition to conducing her own research, applies current research within the field to her practice.
